"Hamlet" is a contemporary screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, reimagined within the landscape and psychological terrain of Montana.
The project was adapted for screen by director Bryan Ferriter and screenwriter Ryan Pfeiffer and produced as a privately funded independent film. I am a co-producer on this film.
I was cast as Queen Gertrude, portrayed in this film as a woman navigating survival within a rigid patriarchal structure — her choices shaped by pressure, proximity to power, and the cost of preserving agency in an unforgiving environment. Within the male-driven narrative, Gertrude becomes a central point of emotional reference — a figure through whom power, loyalty, and consequence are negotiated.
Principal photography and scheduled pick-up shots were completed in late 2023. The project is currently in post-production, including editing, scoring, and final finishing.
Below are select behind-the-scenes moments from set during production.
