“Wuthering Heights” is an Interwoven Studios production directed by Bryan Ferriter, adapted from the classic novel by Emily Brontë. The screenplay was written by Jordyn Auvil and produced by Quincey Kuiava and Jason Rogers, with Mary Riitano and Ryan Pfeiffer serving as Associate Producers.
This independent feature was filmed primarily in Montana, with select exterior scenes captured on the Yorkshire moors. The landscapes mirror the emotional isolation and intensity central to the story, allowing the environment itself to function as a quiet presence within the narrative. Transposing this traditionally British tale into the rural American West brought a heightened sense of solitude and emotional exposure, with Montana’s vast terrain serving almost as a character in its own right.
I was cast as Nelly Dean, the household servant and primary storyteller of the film. Through her perspective, the audience is guided into the generational saga of Heathcliff and Catherine — a story shaped by obsession, loss, and unrequited love. Besides my onscreen character. I portray of Nelly, I share voice over narrative connecting the generations and storyline.
Due to the 2020 pandemic, the film experienced a limited festival run, screening at the Flathead Lake International Cinemafest, Festigious, London International Motion Picture Awards Festival, Covellite Film Festival, JellyFest, Frostbite Film Festival, and the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema.
A defining element of the production was its use of natural and candlelight illumination. Most scenes were filmed entirely without artificial lighting, creating the atmospheric texture reflected in the images below.
