Audiobook narration (and voiceover work) is on hold due to film projects.
As a blossoming audiobook narrator, my biggest strength is how I make book text conversational. Fellow classmates describe my voice as calm, captivating, articulate, present with emotion and depth conveying a warm and trustworthy narration. - - > I LOVE many different genres of books but right now my fav's lean towards fiction adventure, mystery, fantasy, and historical + certain self-healing non-fiction audiobooks. I have a special place in my heart for female authors, stories that elevate women into the lead character/heroine of the story, and stories stepping outside the box of the "shoulds" that we've been told that we need to be!
Drop your shoulders down, take a deep breath (that feels good, ya?) Thanks for taking a few minutes to get acquainted!
Welcome!
My love of reading started as my tiny feet and bouncy pigtails hit kindergarten at four years old. I gobbled up books one after the other creating imaginary worlds wrapping a fresh smelling out-of-the-dryer blanket around my childhood loneliness and powering my young artist imagination while being raised in a very low income household. Reading saved my mind from staying in the trailer park and helped me imagine and make my life now!
Moving from Minnesota to Montana at the age of 12 gave me resilience to start pioneering my way in life but two baby girls tornadoed into my life timeline as I was 19 and 20. Becoming a single mom and raising daughters in this 21st century took grit, gut instincts to be progressive, and humorous wit to help their voice and path grow into vibrant loving humans. My two daughters are living examples of my heart.
My robust acting roots grew in theatre and included being part of a team that opened a black box theater. Where there wasn't something - I've created it. The film industry was almost non-existent in Montana and I trailblazed my path to create a film-acting body of work here. It's a feat of resourcefulness, perseverance, and vision! With an autodidactic learning style, I’m a self-studied actress and I've also gone to LA, Portland, Atlanta for film acting classes and continue to study since Zoom affords us the opportunity to connect across distances with ease.
In March 2020, I was thrilled to be awarded a Best Supporting Actress award from the Idyllwild International Cinemafest for my character work as Nelly in a unique Montana interpretation of the classic film "Wuthering Heights.'' I did voiceover work on the film with a self-studied Yorkshire dialect.
The great love I have for acting and the entire journey of developing character and sharing story dovetail incredibly well into audiobook narration.
Outside of acting, my curiosity led me to try pottery, painting - both house and pictures, tap and modern dance, wakeboarding, rappelling, singing, accent study, modeling, drawing, sewing, interior design, photography, trimming trees, poetry writing, and blogging. I'm in love with nature! You’ll also regularly find me in the mountains soaking up sunbeams, meandering, hiking, biking, snowboarding… recharging with the rich energy in nature. Oh, and I absolutely love great cheeses, a well-made cocktail, and cook up a righteous mouth watering, garlic loaded Italian spaghetti sauce taught to me from Great Grandma Riitano.
As a community member I’ve volunteered at Food Share, dug and graveled hiking trails, and shared my acting talent for community benefit. I was cast in one project by the Montana Historical Society for a unique story presentation at a historic cemetery that was badly vandalized. On performance day, the audience paid a fee to visit select grave sites to see us dressed up to share the deceased person's story. We presented it a few times and between that and other finance sources, money was raised to hire the necessary specialists to repair damages.
Pursuit of growth and wholeness in mind-body-emotions prompted me to get counseling to deal with an eating disorder, ptsd, severe anxiety, and abuse (survivor now thriver!) ... my healing developed deep compassion for the intense struggles we face being human on this wild Earth ride we're on, as well as a process for self-empowerment. I’m also Level I Reiki attuned and practice meditation to balance and process the fast paced change the world is moving through at this time.
On teams of people, people tell me I’m an excellent helper, perspective balancer, thought leader, and will step up to take initiative to get something underway. I arrive with an open mind and an eager spirit. I’d love to be part of your audiobook team.
Bringing my professionalism to the table make your book entertain and move your reader's attention, emotions, and perspective makes me happy 😊
